We climb together

Business is mountaineering

Not a walk in the park is a market entry, restructuring a sales department, align sales – marketing processes, steer a sales organization, keep powerful retailers on track…and many more challenges to be mentioned. But they’re doable.

It’s the same in business than in the mountains: knowing the goal or peak is the starting point, but how to get there requires more: 1) a strategy and a translation into a plan – based on experience and thinking 2) the ability to make decisions – including a change in plans 3) the will to get there – although if it’s out of the comfort zone. To get a project delivered or a mountain climbed (and descend) in my opinion it`s > 50% to stay tuned, push trough, withstand.

But, and that`s the good news, efforts can be shared.

The advantage of climbing together

You need people you can trust. People with capabilities wich complement yours and who want to win as a team. Well, you could argue that mountaineering can be done alone. Fair enough, but have you ever been climbing the Piz Buin or Wildspitze alone? Why not?

Because in most instances, going together is crucial for success. You cannot secure yourself on glacier. Discussing different approaches with the experience of others leads to more security and efficiency. And, by the way, enjoying the success of standing at the top – it’s simply more fun!

What will I bring to our adventure?

Maybe you read it before, it’s sales experience with a strategic approach. And quite some endurance. Also to mention: serenity when it’s getting tough, a broad horizon of different (and also difficult) situations in business, sailing and mountaineering.
